On Tuesday January 19th, Aries and I inspected several fields of Vidalias. The transplant of onions from their seed beds into their secondary field is now complete.
During this visit, Aries inspects the crop to ensure they aren’t undernourished. If a section appears this way, he considers adding a trace amount of fertilizer to balance the soil & provide the nutrients needed for each Vidalia onion. Below are some photos as we drove from field to field:
Aries is also building a new shed to house farm equipment. It’s located near our packing shed, and will also contain office space & bathrooms. We hope to complete construction by May of 2021. Here are some images of the early build-out:
Overall, our 2021 crop of Vidalia onions is looking healthy & happy. Be sure to sign up for our Priority Email notification if you’d like some Vidalia Onions shipped to your door, direct from our farm in Georgia.
